Non-Profit Spotlight: Keystone-Monon Comm. Garden
Our non-profit highlight is one that quite literally puts down roots in our community. With the help of the Indy department of parks and recreation, the Keystone-Monon Community Garden (KMCG) began phase one of their garden in the spring of this year. Located on the south side of Arsenal Park at 46th and Indianola, KMCG began with neighbors who wanted to learn how to grow their own food whilst growing together, side by side. Their mission to be a true community endeavor coincides with their future plans for growth. To make additions to their 20 communal beds, offer regular educational workshops, and install shade and seating structures, KCMG is completely volunteer and donation driven. Do you want to eat healthy and learn how to grow food? Feel closer to your neighbors, decrease crime and take pride in all these things? Then KCMG is the place to be.
