Get Your Caffeine Boost
Indy has tons of local coffee shops, and luckily Indy Hostel is walking distance to some great ones. If you head straight down 49th street you'll run into Hubbard & Cravens where you can find local writers and Butler students and staff working furiously at their laptops or burried in their current book. If you like your coffee black try their brew of the day, it's always splendid. If you want to try a Hubbard & Cravens original creation, order the love potion. If you aren't really a coffee drinker but still like the coffee shop vibe opt for one of their iced chai tea lattes!

If you're looking to stay close to the hostel Broad Ripple has a plethora of bars that you can normally find a bunch of Butler students at during the school year. Try Brother's, Kilroy's or The Red Room. If you're looking to head downtown for the evening try going to Georgia St. where there are many bars along the street which has seating and a pedestrian walkway down the middle. Howl at the Moon, and Taps and Dolls are always crowd pleasers. If you're aren't into the bar scene but still enjoy a nice cocktail, head down to mass ave and get a margarita at Bakersfield or a quirky cocktail at the Libertine.
Indy is home to a pleothora of local breweries that brew the best beer in town, and arguably the midwest. Grab a pack of Sun King Cream Ale from the liquor store down the street or enjoy Upland Brewing's Dragonfly IPA on tap at their location on College, just a few blocks away from the hostel.
